Spoon Post Instructions:
Here’s a simple format for writing a great spoon post:
- Excitement/gratitude
- Authenticity/pain points
- Solution
You’ll see this format in almost every example listed above and if you are wondering, YES! You can do a post whether or not you have started on the products. If you have been on the products you can say you are “excited to be on this...” If you haven’t started yet you can say “I am so excited to get started…”
The post should have 3 parts to it:
- The first line is excitement/gratitude. "I am so happy and grateful to have lost XX and inches on this spoonful a day" "I am so happy and grateful to be on my journey to say bye bye belly fat" "I am excited to see what this will do, I"m ready to say bye to this belly fat!" “I'm excited to start taking care of me..” there are many many many ways to express this...
- The second part is the authenticity and pain points. Share what you have been struggling with, weight, pain, tight clothes, no energy... “I struggle with eating healthy,” “nothing seems to work,” “I have no time to exercise,” “my doctor gave me a reality check,” “I wish I had more energy to chase my kids,” “I'm in pain,” “I don’t fit my clothes,” “my knees hurt,” “I'm on to many meds”... Don't be afraid to share pain points. Being authentic is how we relate with each other AND people WILL respond to a post where you are being authentic, it's the best way to to create common ground and get them engaging on your post!
- The third part is the solution! "But I am making a decision!" "I'm finally doing it!" "but I'm ready to make this change!” “But now I’m excited because I have something to help me!" "and I’m ready to do this for my family." "I'm so excited to set an example and make these changes!" “Now’s the time, I’m making change and it starts right here,” “and it all begins with this spoonful a day! that melts the fat away.” Please try to write your post. Feel free to pull from sample verbiage above that fits your situation and then write your own.
When you are done writing your post, send it to your leaders so they can take a look at it (they’ve written A LOT of posts and they can help make simple edits that can go a long way.) If you get stuck always REACH OUT! Your team is here to help you.
