and you'll attract the best people.
When I was first introduced to the network marketing business model I was 18 years old. I just got out of high school and knew nothing about "business." I had a passion for life, I was motivated and excited for what the future held, but as for any kind of business "know-how," I was clueless, I was a kid that just got out of high school and needed to find a job to make money.
I met my first mentor
Well that's when I met my first mentor. I answered an ad in the paper looking for "people persons" to launch a new company in my area, the line at the bottom of thr page is what really got me....it read UNLIMITED INCOME POTENTIAL. It sounded exciting!
I called the number and the man that answered on the other line was a multimillionaire network marketing top earner. He ran an ad in the Hawaii paper and he was recruiting! Being that I had just graduated from high school, I was just looking for a job but instead he told me about a business where I would be able to be my own boss, have a built in support system, get FREE business coaching and have the
potential to make an unlimited amount of money! I was in! I enrolled that day!
My first lesson
As I look back to our initial interactions as mentor and mentee, I realize that he got me started on the most important lesson that I would learn in this business. The FIRST thing he told me to do was go to the nearest bookstore and buy 2 books: Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill and How to win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie. He told me he wanted me to read those 2 books that next week.
That was my first introduction to personal development.
He taught me about personal growth and development. He explained that this was a people business and that the top earners were ones who knew how to inspire others through their own personal belief...yeah at the time, totally over my head, but now totally get it!
Top earners understand that they are not selling a product or a business, they are selling themselves. Actions speaks louder than words and when someone can SEE YOU and FEEL YOU, there's no convincing necessary. They don't hear what you say, the hear what you feel about what you're saying and that's when they decide to join you!
When I spoke to that business man on the phone he asked me questions and made me feel confident in HIM. When I signed up, I didn't know the company or the product, I didn't even have time to do research. I did it because he said we were gonna rock and roll in this business together and I believed him!
If you're in your network marketing business looking to attract to you awesome business partners then you need to work on you. EACH AND EVERY DAY work on becoming a person that people want to join!
This is not limited to the network marketing profession, you could be a business owner, a service provider, you could even be in a non-profit business looking for peole to join your mission.
The whole idea is that people join your mission based on YOU! Begin thinking about who that best version of you is, and thinkinspecifics of your personal situation. Look at who you are, look at your strengths and operate in them. Look at your weaknesses and be willing to make changes in those areas. It's not good enough to think "I want to be confident," "I want to be empowered," "I want to be a great speaker." Rather you need to be specific as to the changes you need to make to become that confident, empowered person, then take action on making those changes or implementing those new habit everyday.
Here are some things you can work on to attracting the best business partners to you:
Learn to tell "your story" well. Have a 1 minute, 3 minute and 5 minute story that you know how to tell in front of people at events and also know how to also tell it if you are in a "conversation" setting. Make sure your story consists of product as well as the business. Share you're dreams and goals and talk about the community that you're a part of. This inspires peole to join you,
knowing that you're a part of something bigger!
Learn to as questions. This is the easiest way to show peole that you care and that makes them want to join you! Ask about their lives, ask about their dreams and goals. What would they be doing if they had time freedom? If they had an extra $1000 a month, what would they do with it? What are their dreams and goals for their family? Their answers will reveal their hidden desires in life and inspire them! And that's all you need, is to wake up inspiration in them. They'll feel good around you and they will join you!
Now take a moment to write a list of things that can help you become the best version of you. Think of what you would like to improve upon to become a person that people want to join. Read that paper today and when you go out into your business, when you interact with your prospects, keep that list in mine thinking from the place of "being" that person already. You can do it!
