I was introduced to this business 17 years
before I had any success at all. From the moment my first sponsor explained the model to me, I got it, I saw the vision and I wanted it...but it still took me 17 years before I actually had any real SUCCESS.
Though I wouldn't change anything about my journey, this is how I see it: it took me 17 years, so it doesn't have to take you 17 years! Sound like a plan? Ok great! So I'm going to be sharing with you tips, trainings, strategies and more so you can grab what you need to grab to get inspired, trained and get to rocking your business!
In today's blog, I'm going to share with you a mistake to avoid making with your new team members.
But first, this business is simple, but we tend to complicate it. If you ever get confused as to what this business model is about, here's a reminder:
WE FIND CUSTOMERS AND BUSINESS PARTNERS.
Your business is based around finding and enrolling new customers and business partners into your business.

Don't Make this Newbie Mistake
Imagine you've just enrolled a new team member (business partner). You're excited, they're excited and you're both ready to rock and roll. Your trying to be as supportive as possible to help them reach their goals. You got great intentions :-) But sometimes, even with the best intentions you can make mistakes. So here's one mistake that I've been guilty of many times and have seen newbies make often.
Mistake #1: Not "plugging them in."
You'll hear me train on certain things all the time, my IPA's are one of them. If you haven't gotten access to my IPA (Income Producing Action) training, go here and register for free.
Do not make the mistake of signing someone up and then not plugging them in...
You introduced the business to your prospect, you presented, you followed up using the tools and got them started. AWESOME! You have a new business partner! The BEST thing to do for them now is to get them plugged-in to the team and larger community.
The following are tips on how you can avoid making the mistake of not plugging in your new team member:
Do not try to be the main source of info to your business partners.Allow your business partners access to all the info you have access to. Immediately get them to the team calls, the company calls, get them into the FB support groups and get them to the live events. The quicker you can get them connected the better. Let them see that there is info coming from a higher source that yourself.
Do not try to keep your business partners away from the larger team. You may want to "protect" your team members by keeping them "close" to you. I get it. But it's best for you to shake this feeling from the get-go. The best way for your team members to thrive is get them connected to the larger team. You can still have your smaller team meetings or team calls or team FB groups, but do not hold them back from interacting within the larger team. The quicker you can have them operating on their own two feet the better.
Do not think that just because you introduced them to the business, it's your job to manage them.
You may be the one that "introduced" them to this business but
it's up to them
,not you, as to how far they will go in this business. So support them as much as you can by getting them plugged-in to the bigger team and resources. Allow them to think on their own two feet and allow them to operate from their own genius as they take all the tools that are at their disposal and work creatively to build their own business from the systems that are in place...just as you are doing. You are not their boss or their manager. Get them connected to the larger community and let them run while you run along side them as you continue to build your business!
Do not assume that they do or do not need all the info that's funneled in.
Even if you feel like you know your new business partner and you know that they do or they don't actually want to build the business...don't overthink it. STILL GET THEM PLUGGED IN or at least give them the opportunity to decide for themselves. You're smart, you got all the info and you're able to funnel through what you need and what you don't. Trust that your new team member can do the same. Give them the opportunity to grow and learn from the get go, even if they say they are not "really" building the business, still get them connected. They will be able to decipher between the info they need and the info they don't but give them the chance to do so. If there's an event coming up, don't decide for them, get them the info so they can make the decision as to whether they will come or not. If there's an important call, still invite them. If there's a training coming up, get them the info.
Trust that the business is simple and that your business partner can build it if given access to the tools and resources.Remember, what we do is simple: We find customers and business partners. It's pretty simple when we allow people to show us who they are: Some people start off as customers and never do more than that, while others start off as customers and become business partners and then there are those who see the business potential and start building their business from the start. It's simple. After enrolling your new team members, get them connected to all the resources that have helped you, get them connected to the bigger team and then you can continue to go on building your business by finding customers and other business partners.
Trust that your business partner will see the vision just as you have and build their business just as you are.How long did it take for you to see the vision? How long did it take for you to take action in your business? When did you get it? Were you listening to a call? Did you attend an event? Give your team member the opportunity to see what's in front of them, give them the chance to get it for themselves and they will, just as you have.
Utilize whatever the company and/or your team has in place to get you and your business partners in the know. There are systems in place for you and your business partners to utilize. Get to know these systems. Use these systems as much as you can and if after plugging them in you realize there is a need for more info, then create whatever supplementary resource you feel your business partners could utilize but only after you've gotten them plugged in.
I know these are a lot of words to get across a simple point. The law of seven exposures states that we need to be introduced to something at least 7 times before we are even in a position to accept the info. So through this blog post I've just listed a number of different reasons as to why you should avoid making the mistake of not plugging people in to the bigger team and/or community, even if you feel you have a valid reason for doing so.
Get your new members plugged in, let them access the resources for them to build their business as you continue building your business.
